CHECKERED FLAG!

Living in the pits to make position pole
Open wheel or stock, they’re all set-up to roll
If you’re not at the front you’ll be eating dust
Stand still too long, you’ll get run over or rust

Want to win big; not just looking to show
They are all lined up and they’re ready to go
Chance to make a mark; give them what they’ve never seen
It’s all worth the wait when the flag drops green

Working all week just to get to the track
The lights are shining bright, the grandstands are packed
CHORUS
Stomping on the pedal:  they’re gone baby, gone
Sliding through the corners like skipping stones
Looking for the lead, they’re tuned-up right
Who wants to take the checkered flag home tonight?
(Whoa Ohh, Wo  a whoa)

Spin-out in number two the lead car stalled
Push truck, yellow flag, caution called
Restart line-up the cars are nose to tail
The leader hits the cone and the green flag sails

(solo)
The roar of the engines, the roar of the crowd
They’re bumping and they’re rubbing, they’re not too proud
Looking for the trophy, not looking to impress
Butterflies in the stomach feel the rumble in your chest

Living for the glory you know what I mean
If you don’t-- you’ll get the gist while engines scream!

Stomping on the pedal:  they’re gone baby, gone
Sliding through the corners like skipping stones
Pushing for the lead, everything feeling right
Going to take the checkered flag home tonight
(Whoa Ohh, Wo  a whoa)

The white flag is out, just one more lap
Keep that throttle wide open, no time to nap
Push into turn four neck and neck for the lead
Going to cross the finish line at break neck speed

Stomping on the pedal:  you’re gone baby, gone
Sliding through the corners like a skipping stone
Tight through the turn, got the lead in sight
Going to take the checkered flag home tonight
(Whoa Ohh, Wo  a whoa)
Repeat last CHORUS

Love You to Death

With the weight of the world pushing down, confusion and distortion all around
I can’t tell you, I can’t tell you what’s right
And, if you plan to make the big escape: don’t know which path to take
There’s no reason, to try to run very far

‘Cause they’ll tell you they need you, they say you’re not like the rest
Confuse and deceive you, as they love you to death

With every little opportunity, with everything that you do
They screw you; screw you; until you can’t move
They keep tacking on the interest you owe, you’ll have to pay to the grave
Well you should have; Well, you should have saved

And they tell you they need you, they say you’re not like the rest
Constricting to squeeze you; and force out your last breath

Muffled, silence, try to breath air-Oh, too seductive for them to care
No more worries, as you are brought to your knees
Fight for existence, feeling so weak; you’d beg to stop them, but you can’t speak
they have loved you…Yes, they’ve loved you to death

Lyrics

Come on, dance a little-let your troubles drift away-pretty soon they’ll all be gone
If your thinkin that nothins gonna change your mind, I can only tell you, “You’re wrong”
It’s a feelin, and it’s tried and it’s true, it’s like talkin with an old time friend
Just think of all the things you’ve done together before and all the things you want to do again

Passion and pleasure provide the force to turn the world
The moon pulls the lovers with the tide
Runnin from bad dreams only makes them give chase
Soon enough there’s nowhere you can hide-Come on

Come on, dance a little-let your troubles drift away-pretty soon they’ll all be gone
If your thinkin that nothins gonna change your mind, I can only tell you you’re wrong

Sane people don’t know, what it’s like to fall in love
With every emotion running high
Life is a canyon; love is the river which flows through
Everything else is on the side-Come on

It’s a feelin, and it’s oh so fine, it’s like cool rain on a hot summer day
Soon the clouds will part, the sun will shine, all your sadness will just wash away

It’s a feelin, and it’s oh so fine, like cool rain on a hot summer day
Soon the clouds will part, the sun will shine, all your sadness will just wash away

Lyrics

Fools, fools, fools
We just don’t understand
Lie, lie, lie
For everything that we have

All the seconds, all of the feelings you have
They have arrived, you should accept them
As I wish it for you, won't you wish it for me

Please, please, please
I don’t want to see
No, no, no
Such a tragedy
Of the things we don’t need
Lies, lies, lies
I’ve had enough prophecy

The world is turning as expected
It’s a pity that our minds are infected
We can’t believe in the truth that’s already there

NO, no, no
Don’t say it will end
Time we can spend
Fools, fools, fools
This may not happen again
Lie, lie, lie
Don’t allow it to end

Live every day in perspective
Realizing our lives are connected
Know the wishes you make
CREATE THE WORLD WHERE WE LIVE

Lyrics

DROP YOUR WEAPONS

Drop your weapons; give up everything that you own
Make no exceptions, just start moving
A new world is forming, whether you wish it or not
This ancient process needs no proving

Unchain the children, let them run and be free
Give them love, be their protectors
Sound the warning, let all the people know
This type of power should be rejected

You know it’s nothing but greed, and they won’t let it go; they’ve got us under control
We only want to be free, everyone needs to know; they’ve got us under control

You see the structure is breaking, because of what you know
The desperate measures they’re taking, to keep us under control

Old ways are dying; they’ve been lost in the past:
Buried deep, pinned under ruin
So, drop your weapons, give up everything that you own
Make no exceptions, just start moving

Sound the warning, unchain the children, let all the people know
We need to take the control, we need to take back control!

SEA OF MADNESS

The world has been shaking for a long, long time:  I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen apart
Most of us would like to stop the destruction, but we don’t know where to start

Politicians make their promises preaching that they are working for us
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer; all of our dreams turn to dust

The food we eat and the things we think, they’re all toxic and they feed our disease
The lack of insight and the lack of regard are the common seeds of profit and greed

Wars have been raging on and on, without end since the dawn of time
The struggle for power, it will never die.  You want yours and I want mine

Then you talk about reality and I see that none of it's real
You try to tell me about sensational things but I see that there’s nothing to feel
Lost in this illusion, filled up with lies drama and discontent
The saddest part is that no one wants to admit, we’re all drowning in a sea of madness
A SEA OF MADNESS!

LIFE IS GOOD

There are uncertainties in every moment
There might be a chance to turn this whole thing around
But so far we are all involved in a one way motion
And you might forget about everything you’ve done and found
With the lack of confidence and the need for acceptance
You twist and bend, then try to fit in
Taking one big leap and you’re in the current
Sinking fast, but can you learn how to swim
LIFE IS GOOD- you can get a new credit card
LIFE IS GOOD-all you need is salvation
LIFE IS GOOD-here’s an offer you can’t refuse
LIFE IS GOOD-what have you got to lose?
All at once you arrive at a virgin horizon
And all the things you see are in a different light
You might not recognize the road you’re traveling
Beat up and bruised with no strength left to fight
LIFE IS GOOD- you can get a new credit card
LIFE IS GOOD-all you need is salvation
LIFE IS GOOD-here’s an offer you can’t refuse
LIFE IS GOOD-what have you got to lose?
And even if you don’t change: life won’t stay the same
Before you know it; it’s over
LIFE IS GOOD-if you’ve got someone to love you
LIFE IS GOOD-if you believe in what you do
LIFE IS GOOD-focus in on the eloquence
LIFE IS GOOD-you may need some insurance
LIFE IS GOOD-if you’re not facing invasion
LIFE IS GOOD-a way to learn patience
LIFE IS GOOD-examine existence
LIFE IS GOOD-face it with persistence
LIFE IS GOOD-------

Lyrics

THAT'S RIGHT

Fighting for the sweat that fell from the sun, for as long as we know that’s how it has been done
All the misery and the hidden cost: But, what’s the price for life
-
Got big dreams, gonna fulfill one, runnin out of time, but it's uniform
Everything has structure, everything has its place; balanced on the edge of a knife
Said that’s right, don’t you know that’s right, I think that’s right, yeah
On the same puzzle, lost in a maze-Been here for years, not just for days
Overcome all the problems, with the force of will and conquer all the fear
-
On a one lane road, without any lines:  Hard to find something that you can’t define
Bad luck and lost opportunity are lost in the rear view mirror
Said that’s right, Don’t you know that’s right, I think that’s right, I SAID THAT’S RIGHT

Like a keepsake held close to the heart-can’t throw out a thing, wouldn’t know where to start
Keep the clutter in the attic, the cash in the bank, and the mystery in my mind
-
If I had wings, I’d fly straight to the sun-In that kind of light you can see how it’s done
Sworn enemies with their pointless hate could have nothing to hide
Said that’s right, Don’t you know that’s right, I think that’s right, I SAID THAT’S RIGHT

Lyrics

WHISKEY AND SMOKE

This here is a little story about a set up you see
A funny set of circumstances about a co-worker and me
In his defense, this other fellow was not afraid to work
But it has been said by others, “he is a spiteful, wretched jerk”

For almost thirteen years we’d worked together without a major incident
There had been shouting matches to build camaraderie within the establishment
All of that broke down on the shift of so-called afternoon
That’s what brought me to the opportunity to sing for all of you this tune

CHORUS w/o N-W-B
All I got from the boss men was the run around
All I got on the streets were spinning wheels
And inside the bars I found Whiskey and Smoke
And baby-

He told me that he wanted to make life hard for some other decent folks
When I heard his plans I thought they were just more of his poor tasting jokes
I found he was serious, as I pursued the inquiry
He was looking for pleasure in all of my friends’ suffering and misery
(I couldn’t let that happen)

The two of us began to argue back and forth, on and on
It didn’t too long before my so called cool head was gone
I grabbed him quick, and then pushed him back:   He just kind of smirked
He pointed to a camera and said he’d make sure that footage put me out of work
(Here I come unemployment line)

CHORUS
All I got from the boss men was the run around
All I got on the streets were spinning wheels
But inside the bars I found Whiskey and Smoke
And baby; now we’re broke

The telephone rang; boss man said things were under investigation
Next thing I knew it rang again and informed me of my termination
My co-worker played innocent, acted like he didn’t want me to be fired
Well that’ OK you see, all my friends know he’s a no good liar

I will not mention his name; I don’t think he plays the accordion
He is slender built, got a large Adam’s apple, and his head looks like a pin
I vindicate this story in the hope that you all may know
If you are in an argument:  Make sure your actions are not captured on video!

CHORUS x 2
All you’ll get from the boss men is the run around
All you’ll get out on the streets are spinning wheels
But inside the bars they’ve got Whiskey and Smoke
And baby; now we’re broke

All I got from the boss men was the run around
All I got on the streets were spinning wheels
And inside the bars they’ve got Whiskey and Smoke
But baby; now we’re broke

(It don’t matter, it don’t matter
I don’t work no more, You know why? Because I’m broke)

(No sense in crying over spilled milk)
